Ur arkivet, visades

12/08 – 13/09, 1970

Two years after the exhibition Weavers from Harrania, it was time to return to Södertälje konsthall, now with the exhibition New Weaves from Harrania. Eje Högestätt, Artistic Director and Ingvar Claesson, Amanuense, solemnly invited us with a letter to the opening on September 11, 1970. Ramses and Sophie had traveled to Södertälje from Egypt. It was a full evening of music, cheese, wine and sausage were served.

At the time of the exhibitions at Södertälje konsthall, Ramses Wissa Wassef Art Center had already been on a European tour for many years and had received international attention in the press and reviews. In Sweden, Egyptian young weavers were exhibited at Moderna Museet in 1960. The weavers came to Skövde in 1966, and to Kalmar Art Museum in the summer of 1969. New Weaves from Harrania, which were exhibited at Södertälje konsthall in 1970, became a traveling exhibition for Norrbotten Museum in 1970.
