Södertälje konsthall exhibits the art that we find most relevant. We exhibit contemporary art, art that is made now and that takes its point of departure in relation to the challenges of our times. Södertälje konsthall also exhibits historical art and we continue to delve into aspects of Södertälje as a city, whether historically or in terms of the future that we all co-create.
Södertälje konsthall notices that more and more visitors are choosing digital meetings with arts and are reducing opening hours and strengthening the presence on www.sodertaljekonsthall.se and in social media. Södertälje konsthall will change its opening hours from Saturday 21 March. We are open Thursday-Saturday 12-15. Should the opening hours not suit you and you are interested in visiting the exhibition Ernest Mancoba – An Artist and His Legacy, you are welcome to contact us for a personal visit. Södertälje konsthall was started 1968 and during many years alliances and friendships were formed with institutions and artists in North-Africa, Finland, Poland and Latin-America. The art that was shown was often political and was also often exhibited in public space – many public artworks in Södertälje were realized during these years.
In 1978 Luna Kulturhus (The Luna Culture House) was opened and up until today you can still find Södertälje konsthall here.
