The exhibition at Södertälje konsthall was the largest exhibition up until then for the multi-artist Fritz Sjöström. Sjöström was born in Jukkasjärvi in 1923 (in the catalogue it says Kiruna). He studied at Valand Art School (1941 – 45) and at the Royal Academy of Arts (1945 – 50). In an interview with the artist made by Teddy Gummerús, published in the art gallery’s catalog, it is clear how multi-artists in the context of this time are treated with skepticism.
