During this period at the time of the old art gallery, they chose to show two exhibitions.

The first one being, an international photo exhibition “Information/Perception/Reflexion” refers to the “artist’s” approach to reality (society, nature, human body, fantasies), the tools (the camera, the lens, time, light) and the work (the photo). On behalf of the Södertälje Kulturnämnd and its Art Gallery, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Béatrice Parent in her role as a source of ideas and mediator of contacts with artists in large parts of Europe!

On the lower floor of the Art Gallery, an exhibition was shown, a presentation of sketches and models for new public art in Södertälje. Above all, the collaboration with the Polish artist Wladyslaw Hasior, who has been an exhibitor in the art gallery on several occasions, is highlighted. His powerful sculpture group “Solspann” on the bath house hill by the sea can be seen from the train windows by those traveling by train to Södertälje central. The horses are cast in place directly in the ground. In the coarse, muddy concrete and the scrap they are made of, there are elements of stone, gravel and earth. Endowed with symbols, they rise like a primordial force out of the ground, moving forward, upward. Hasior got his inspiration from rock carvings. The rite also include “Solspann” at the inauguration was illuminated with fire according to a secret recipe by Hasior himself. It became an annual occurrence when people walked with torches to the site and performed the rite while speaking and reading poetry.

The sketch exhibition also included Olle Bonniér’s decoration in Fornbackaskolan’s student canteen, Sven H Johansson’s “tile mosaics” in the tunnels under the Oxbacksleden, Lenny Clarhäll’s ceiling decorations (acroteries) at Rösbergaskolan and Percy Andersson’s model proposal for the design of the Turin garden.
